CitiBike Stand at Whitehall Ferry Terminal
Visitors to the Island are welcome to bring their own bikes or rent a CitiBike when boarding the ferry. The East River Ferry is equipped with custom designed bike racks, however, rack space is limited and is first-come, first-served. A $1.00 fee applies to bikes brought on board. For riders who bring a suitcase-sized folding bike on the ferry and can keep the bike on their persons while traveling, there is no additional surcharge.
Visitors using the Manhattan or Brooklyn ferry will not be charged for bringing a bike.

Governors Island has Free Bike Mornings! Adult and child cruiser bikes (no quads or tandems) are free every weekday from 10am to 12pm for one hour per rider. A 10 minute grace period is allowed without additional charge. After that, the regular rental rate takes affect. Detailed information is available here.
