The ferries to Governors Island run between May 24th to Sept 28th, 2014. All tickets must be purchased before boarding the ferry. You can purchase tickets at all terminals or on the NY Waterway App. Calculate the cost of your tickets.

The Manhattan Ferry tickets are $2 roundtrip for adults and children 12 and older, and $1 for seniors. On weekends, the 10am and 11am ferries are FREE. The ferry leaves from the Battery Maritime Building (slip 7) next to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. To get to the ferry

By Subway: Take the 1 to South Ferry, the 4 or 5 to Bowling Green or the R to Whitehall St./South Ferry. (You can also take the 2 or 3 to Chambers St. and tranfer to the 1 to South Ferry)

By Bus: Take the M9 to Battery Park, or the M6 or M15 to South Ferry.

Brooklyn Ferry

The Governors Island Brooklyn ferry departs from Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, at the foot of Atlantic Avenue. The ferry operates every weekend, Memorial Day and Labor Day. The tickets are $2 roundtrip for adults and children 12 and older, and $1 for seniors. To get to the Brooklyn Ferry:

By Subway: Take the 2, 3, 4 or 5 train to Borough Hall. You can also take the R to Court Street. Then walk to Pier 6.

By Bus: Take the B63 bus to Brooklyn Bridge Park.

East River Ferry

The East River ferry is located between E. 35th St and 36th St. at FDR Drive. It services Governors Island on weekends only. During the summer months, the Governors Island stop becomes the last southbound stop on the East River ferry (right after the Pier 11/Wall St. stop). The Greenpoint/India St. terminal stop is suspended until further notice.

The tickets are $6 for adults and $1 for bicycles. The first 2 children under 6 travel free per each ticketed adult passenger. No more than 40 children may be on board a vessel at any one time. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. This terminal is handicap accessible. The East River Ferry connects to the following buses:

The M34 Crosstown, M15, M16 Bus Service and the MTA 6 at 33rd and Park Ave.
